What's Happening to democracy in Malaysia??

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Reporter Tan Hoon Cheng was released after being arrested and held for 24 hours under the Internal Security Act 1960.

Tan, a reporter with Sin Chew Daily, returned to her Taman Permai home here at 4pm yesterday.

The other two people who were arrested under the ISA on Friday - Selangor senior executive councillor Teresa Kok and Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Kamaruddin - remained in detention.

Other developers yesterday were:

> Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar said Tan was arrested because her safety was under threat;

> Syed Hamid also said it was not his decision but that of the police to detain the three under the ISA; and

> The National Union of Journalists, Bar Council and even several Barisan Nasional component parties voiced their disagreement over the use of the ISA on reporters.


If these people were arrested because they started a racial dispute, what about the person who spoke about it publicly initially?? Shouldn't he be arrested too since he is provoking Chinese by saying we are 'squatters'??!!! WTF! Since when we became squatters?

He went into hiding, and refuse to apologize eventhough the PM and DPM had apologized on his behalf. He say he did nothing wrong..! Is it?.Can you make a statement, generalizing and stereotyping chinese like this?.. UMNO should have kick him out, not ban him for 3 years....Non competent MPs will only cause riot...See, just because of ur silly fucking statement, so many things happened....PM and DPM apologise, people caught under ISA...

Eh...young journalist somemore. Spend a night in Police lockup just because she wrote what u said.. People got family u know.! Fuck u lar.! I throw ur son and daughter inside lockup see u can sleep or not?.. Rape can even happen within police lockup in Malaysia...! Moron!..

Really saddened by what these politicians are doing in Malaysia..In times of such economic crisis, they are busy pointing fingers, scolding other races, catching people with ISA, go Taiwan trip...Is these steps should be taken to ease the lifelihood of the 'rakyat'? Or have you people forgotten what Government means? Let me remind you... You all are living in a democratic government.! Not Adolf Hitler government where u can chop anyone u like.

Government, according to Abaraham Lincoln is: Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth.

Remember that.! If you fail to serve the people, get out of that seat and give way to others. Its not a stage for your personal drama.
