NEW THEFT TECHNIQUE IN MSIA

New theft technique in M'sia
Just received this latest theft technique used by robbers. It seems feasible so take heed. Warning for all the ladies out there; and men please inform your significant other. (And, hey, it could happen to the> guys!)

The Latest Scam: Robbing Females using the restroom/"ladies"/bathroom at a Shopping Mall... ...
The way the scam works is, a man slips into a women's rest room and sneaks into a unit. He waits until there is only one woman in the restroom in a neighboring unit/stall. The criminal then stands on the toilet seat and points a hand gun into the next unit/stall, demanding
the woman's valuables.

After getting her cash and jewellery, he demands that she > remove all of her clothing and kick them out of the unit/stall. The thief tosses the clothing into a shopping bag, hangs an "out of order sign" on the restroom door outside, and slips back into the mall. The "out of order sign" ensures no one will soon come to the woman's rescue. It usually takes an hour or two for the woman to work up the nerve to leave the rest room in the nude, giving the criminal ample time to make his get away. The woman is left naked humiliated in a mall full of strangers.
The best defense, say police, is to never go into a shopping mall restroom alone, as only women who are by themselves are targeted. PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. This has so far been a nearly perfect crime, as none of the perpetrators have been caught. Don't let this happen to another woman.

THIS IS MALAYSIA nowadays... People are gettting more creative in commiting crimes....even innovative...but I dont see anyway they are using their brains for advancements...Is this the downfall of Malaysians?

Does that topic sounds real funny? chasing and yet wasting time here...Tats ME! exams is on Monday...just 2 days ahead...and i am chasing time to finish my revision....but i just cant cramp everything in within a short period of time..and so...here i am, wasting time facing the computer again....well...the sem is gonna end after 28 Nov...and its a day called...what have i done? its time of reflection soon when results are released...till then..

Double Standard within a Nation??

KUALA LUMPUR: The Government is re-looking the principle behind the fuel subsidy to ensure the rich pay their share while the poor are not affected.
Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussein said a task force had been set up under the Finance Ministry to study the proposed new system and would focus on the subsidy allotment.

A sticky situation: As oil prices surge, the Government is finding it harder to continue subsidising prices. The Finance Ministry is now drawing up plans to make the rich pay more for other automobile-related items and use that money to keep fuel prices down.A Government source said that under the present system the rich paid the same as the poor and this was unfair and regressive.
It is learnt that the task force is looking into the mechanisms that are needed to make the system more progressive.
“This may mean that the present subsidy level is maintained but the rich could be taxed in other ways,” said the source.
Among the mechanisms being looked into is increasing road tax – the owner of a luxury high-powered vehicle could be made to pay a much higher road tax, thus off-setting the subsidy they receive.
“Taxation is progressive because you pay according to how much you earn. Even the electricity tariffs are progressive because the more you use, the more you pay,
“The principle behind the fuel subsidy should also be the same – the poor should enjoy the most and not the rich,” said the source.
On Friday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announced that the Government was reviewing the subsidy because it was costing the Government too much, especially with the rising crude oil prices internationally (see chart).

What we are doing is like being suicide bombers. Killing ourselves like this is stupid,” Abdullah said in his winding-up speech at the close of the Umno general assembly on Friday.
Umno deputy youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin, who first broached the subject when debating the economic resolution, said the subsidy must reach only the people who most needed it and to do it the present way was a misallocation of funds.
M&A Securities head of research Wee Kim Hong said it would be a balancing act for the Government to come up with a mechanism that works.
“If the Government wants to tax the rich through other means like road tax and not do away with the subsidy, then one must find a level where the rich are willing to pay and not resort to smuggled products.
“If the Government wants to create a two-tier subsidy system, then there will be an implementation problem,” he said, adding that fuel price increase was inflationary as it affects the cost of most other consumer products.
Wee said that whatever mechanism the Government chooses, it should have the consumer in mind.
Mydin Mohamed Holdings Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin went a step further and suggested getting rid of all subsidies.
“There is no doubt that we have to subsidise certain sectors, but how it is done has to be thought out carefully. Right now there is a lot of wastage, especially in the form of diesel subsidies,” he added.
Ameer believes that petrol subsidies could and should be removed but done so gradually over two years.
“Frankly, there should not be a subsidy for petrol, because there is already an automatic mechanism (of apportioning costs). If you use more of it, you can afford more – it’s already there,” he said.
He lauded the announcement made by the prime minister, which shows that the Government is not fearful of doing this with elections just around the corner.
“It is better to act sooner rather than later. This shows they are serious and are thinking over the long term,” Ameer said.
Federation of Malaysian Consumers Association secretary-general Muhammad Shaani Abdullah, who supports the move to do away with the subsidy, said the money spent on subsidy should be used to beef up the public transportation system, as people would naturally resort to it when fuel price rises.
“Instead of giving the subsidy, the Government should use the subsidy to provide better healthcare, education and increase the wages of the poor people by setting a minimum wage standard,” he said.
The Petroleum Dealers Association of Malaysia president Datuk Zulkifli Mokti warned that whatever mechanism implemented should close loopholes to prevent cheats.
“How do you stop the lower-tier beneficiaries selling to those in the higher tier? Because of the subsidised prices, people living along the borders are coming to Malaysia to buy the fuel here,” Zulkifli added.

Double standard in one nation? Arent we tax for how much we earn? Unless some morons can evade tax and say it loud "I no need to pay tax!!".. thus, the rich pay more tax, which is contributing more money, hence receiving his share of subsidy in fuel more; whereas the poor, pays less tax and receives less fuel subsidy. Isnt that fair? Practicing DOUBLE standard in a nation!..that's really a uneducated way of thinking, and that is really UNFAIR!..

The next question here is, how are u gonna differentiate the rich and the poor at petrol stations, where consumers get their petrol? Are the rich labelled "I am RICH" on the head? Classify their vehicle type and class? Luxury cars pays more for fuel? Stupid! thats really stupid!..richs can buy more PROTONS, up to an unimaginable amount, hire many drivers and line it up at stations...or even use the highest class of "poor people's car" and use that car all the time, enjoy low prices and remain RICH...

Cant stand fuel subsidy? "What we are doing is like being suicide bombers. Killing ourselves like this is stupid" - Badawi... One very GOOD question here, isnt the government earning more as the world fuel price increase? this should be in turn used to subsidy our own fuel consumption...since our fuel here is of higher grade and can sell at a better price than what we are currently using our ownselves. Where does all the money goes? Ask those who gives this statement...Gives this "GOOD" idea to practice double standard within a nation...

Something that really makes me furious here..Who are the ones using luxury or even SUPER LUXURY cars? with big roaring engines up to 5000-6000 cc? WHO?? ALL those MINISTERS, chauffered in BMW 7 Series, Mercedes S-Class, Jaguar, Land Cruiser Lexus V8, government departments vehicles, Customs and Excise Vehicles, "QSG" vehicles with big roaring engines!.. who? U tell me who are owining or even using luxury vehicles? Do they need that? and the point here, We are all told to LOVE our nation by BUYING LOCAL GOODS!.... Is PROTON LOCAL GOODS? or is it RUBBISH? Ask the people to invest in local goods, full of problems..and their own servants are enjoying SUPER LUXURY cars! Consuming the most fuel of all..and yet the Prime Minister is saying that subsidising is like suicide bombing? Its like he is supplying the bombs, asking his servants to BLOW UP the nation, and tell the world that his people are suicide bombers, destroying the nation...Is that LOGIC? Want to reduce subsidy, PULL BACK all your LUXURY vehicles and ask them all to LOVE THEIR NATION, USE PROTON LA!!!

Our National Automotive Policy - promotes ppl, lure ppl to buy Protons, buying new cars, by giving low interest rates on new cars, high rates on used cars..is destroying us..!! this is the thing that is really destroying us! What for luring people to get so many cars? what is the public transport for? though its not properly planned, and in some places, its totally like shit!..
Simple theory:
More Cars = More Engines = More fuel consumption = more Subsiby Needed = SUICIDE BOMBER according to the PM..

So? how? Ask me? I think the government should clean up this mess they created... Ask their servants to use proton, to show their own commitment and to reduce fuel usage, impose more tax on vehicles with big engines while bring in hybrids, let PROTON ROT...it will, if always protected, it will either learn its lesson, progress well with others, or ROT and disapppear from the surface of the earth...Hybrids will reduce ur fuel subsidy dramatically if everyone uses it, made possible by no tax and even subsidy.. Last, by implementing double standard, U ARE BLASTING UP THE NATION....by creating a very subjective part whereby how the RICH are identified...more fraud will be committed..!

Global warming, melting polar ice caps and its impact on these Polar bears...

See how lovely and unique these polar bears are? we all have the right to live on in this world. These polar bears basically lives on top of frozen ice shelves...though they know how to swim, but they need the ice too....drowning polar bears is an commonly heard issue lately as the polar ice caps melts happens at an increasingly fast pace, beyond what scientist's model predicts...well, why it melts? it all comes back to global warming...and mankind is the main cause of it.....

these lovely and innocent creatures will face its extinction when the day comes when the whole ice sheet at the artic is melted off....due to drownage...in the vast expand of sea water....well, maybe its because i am caught by the video in 'An Inconvenient truth' by Al Gore, where there is a footage on these bears...it might looks funny...but that is the fact that is happening...

Recent issue of Time magazine shows that ships may pass through the Artic sea, which is currently frozen with ice even during spring by 2030 if the melting continue as current speed...what will happen then? though it cut short journeys, it rises ocean levels, floods will be more rampant and low lying nations such as the Bandgladesh and Holland will be submerged...Yet, the race for natural resources is still happening there..and the newest place, when these ice sheets melts, they found new sources of natural gas and are start pumping them, at the new plant, in Alaska...imagine a burning gas tower in the middle of vast ice?? is this ridiculous? as we are all in the midst of extreme climate changes, rising ocean levels, new diseases...all which comes, results from global warming....and yet they are exploring new oil fields? waging more war in the Middle east?

If this continue and we don play our part, in help reducing global warming, by reducing carbon emission, these wonderful polar bears will only be seen in museums, and also in the list of extinct animals, all caused by human, mankind!

Talking on the phone while driving...An expensive lesson..

Hell, what a miserable day was for me yesterday...out of nowhere, I had to pay 'summons' to officers after being caught talking on the phone by 'mobile toll stations', that are always on patrol on the road.

Driving along Pending road, with the phone stuck to my ears, I was busy talking away, unaware that there is a patrol car behind me...out of no where, the car then repositioned it to my side, giving its driver and passenger a clear view of what I am doing..! talking away on the phone! He horned me, and i saw him..My first reaction, 'oh shit, i call you back later, caught by the cops!' die liaw this time, gonna waste money again...

now since its in the middle of the roundabout, i tried to jus pretend to put down the phone, assuming that they are just warning me...and i drove away from him...who the hell knows! he tailed me...tail gated me somemore! god damm...i was looking at them on the rear mirror...trying to get them furious! hahaz..i managed to...after tail gating for quite a distance, pretending to be a 'soh lou' don know that he asked me to stop, he stepped hard on the accelerator, overtook me and ask me to stop..!! hahaz...looking at his angry face, i wanna laugh...so i follow his back and stopped at the road side...

Moral lesson, if you want to talk on the phone while driving, use the speaker or hands free, cause roads nowadays are roamed with toll stations! you never know when will one crop up from behind of you and catch yea!...BEWARE!!

Now that it has become public, the question before 25 million Malaysians is:
Who is likely to prevail in a confrontation between Malaysia 's Prime
Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and the 13-state Southeast Asian federation's
nine hereditary rulers over the constitutional role of the king.

the 13th Yang di Pertuan Agong or supreme ruler, says his role isn't purely
ceremonial. Abdullah, however, says the king has no right to meddle in his
administration.

Last night Raja Nazrin Shah, the crown prince of northern Perak state, told
his audience at a public lecture in Kuala Lumpur , the national capital,
that Abdullah is wrong. He says that, under the constitution, the monarch
acts as a "healthy check and balance" of Abdullah's administration which has
been undermined by wasteful spending of public funds on mega projects,
rising corruption and lawlessness.

Such talk is worrying Abdullah; particularly when Nazrin says the
constitution allows the rulers to be " the guardian of the just rule of law,
an impartial arbiter in the democratic process and an overseer over the
pillars of state."Analysts say the rulers are not suggesting that they have
the power to remove Abdullah from office. That would be a coup d'état.

But rather, as Nazrin says, the rulers, who are above partisan politics, are
to act like judges to ensure fairness in resolving conflicts in governing
the country. The Malay rulers see themselves as the guardian of the welfare
of Malaysians.

The 50-year-old Nazrin is seen as the de facto spokesman of the rulers whose
office dictates that they refrain from articulating their personal views in
public. Nazrin, who graduated from Oxford and Harvard, has been vocal on
Malaysian constitutional, social and economic affairs. He is the eldest son
of former king Sultan Raja Azlan Shah, 79, a constitutional law expert who
was also the Lord President of the Federal Court.

Four years into his first term as prime minister, Abdullah's popularity has
nose-dived after winning an overwhelming mandate in the 2004 general
election. He has broken his electoral promise to crack down on corruption
and to bring reforms to his nation. Instead, allegations of corruption and
abuse of governmental powers have risen.
His 'Mr Clean' image is tarnished by the purchase of a luxury jet that costs
$50 million and a spate of financial scandals involving projects whose costs
have gotten out of hand. Analysts say he is now perceived as a weak and
indecisive leader who has lost control of his government allowing conflicts
in the judiciary and rivalry among law enforcement officers that look like a
mafia family feud. A spate of gangland slayings and a high profile murder
case have added to Abdullah's woes. And the rulers feel, constitutionally,
they have the powers to make Abdullah correct his mistakes.Things came to a
head over disagreement between Abdullah and the rulers over top judicial
appointments.

Under Malaysia 's complex system of appointing judges, the king must give
his consent after the prime minister has consulted the rulers of his choice.
The king had refused Abdullah's nominee following accusations that Chief
Justice Ahmad Fairuz was promoting lesser and errant judges to high benches.

The adamant Chief Justice told Abdullah to tell the rulers that the king
must do his bidding. A seven-month stalemate ensued over the appointment of
the Chief Judge of Malaya which was resolved only last week when Abdullah
finally yielded to the king. Now, the rulers want Abdullah to reform the
judiciary which has been disgraced by allegations of impropriety of judges
since the judiciary lost its autonomy after former premier Mahathir Mohamed
sacked Salleh Abas, the Lord President of the Supreme Court, in 1988. One
man who would want Abdullah to restore independence to the judiciary is
Sultan Azlan Shah. He has hinted so much in many of his writings.

But will Abdullah do it?

Article 150 of the Constitution
Article 150 of the Constitution provides that:
150. Proclamation of Emergency
(1) If the Yang di-Pertuan Agong is satisfied that a grave emergency exists
whereby the security, or the economic life, or public order in the
Federation or any part thereof is threatened, he may issue a Proclamation of
Emergency making therein a declaration to that effect.

(2) A Proclamation of Emergency under Clause (1) may be issued before the
actual occurrence of the event which threatens the security, or the economic
life, or public order in the Federation or any part thereof if the Yang
di-Pertuan Agong is satisfied that there is imminent danger of the
occurrence of such event.

(2a) The power conferred on the Yang di-Pertuan Agong by this Article shall
include the power to issue different Proclamations on different grounds or
in different circumstances, whether or not there is a Proclamation or
Proclamations already issued by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong under Clause (1)
and such Proclamation or Proclamations are in operation.

(2b) If at any time while a Proclamation of Emergency is in operation,
except when both Houses of Parliament are sitting concurrently, the Yang
di-Pertuan Agong is satisfied that certain circumstances exist which render
it necessary for him to take immediate action, he may promulgate such
ordinances as circumstances appear to him to require.

(2c) An ordinance promulgated under Clause (2b) shall have the same force
and effect as an Act of Parliament, and shall continue in full force and
effect as if it is an Act of Parliament until it is revoked or annulled
under Clause (3) or until it lapses under Clause (7); and the power of the
Yang di-Pertuan Agong to promulgate ordinances under Clause (2b) may be
exercised in relation to any matter with respect to which Parliament has
power to make laws, regardless of the legislative or other procedures
required to be followed, or the proportion of the total votes required to be
had, in either House of Parliament.

(3) A Proclamation of Emergency and any ordinance promulgated under Clause
(2b) shall be laid before both Houses of Parliament and, if not sooner
revoked, shall cease to have effect if resolutions are passed by both Houses
annulling such Proclamation or ordinance, but without prejudice to anything
previously done by virtue thereof or to the power of the Yang di-Pertuan
Agong to issue a new Proclamation under Clause (1) or promulgate any
ordinance under Clause (2b).

(4) While a Proclamation of Emergency is in force the executive authority of
the Federation shall, notwithstanding anything in this Constitution, extend
to any matter within the legislative authority of a State and to the giving
of directions to the Government of a State or to any officer of authority
thereof.

(5) Subject to Clause (6a), while a Proclamation of Emergency is in force,
Parliament may, notwithstanding anything in this Constitution make laws with
respect to any matter, if it appears to Parliament that the law is required
by reason of the emergency; and Article 79 shall not apply to a Bill for
such a law or an amendment to such a Bill, nor shall any provision of this
Constitution or of any written law which requires any consent or concurrence
to the passing of a law or any consultation with respect thereto, or which
restricts the coming into force of a law after it is passed or the
presentation of a Bill to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong for his assent.

(6) Subject to Clause (6a), no provision of any ordinance promulgated under
this Article, and no provision of any Act of Parliament which is passed
while a Proclamation of Emergency is in force and which declares that the
law appears to Parliament to be required by reason of the emergency, shall
be invalid on the ground of inconsistency with any provision of this
Constitution.

(6a) Clause (5) shall not extend the powers of Parliament with respect to
any matter of Islamic law or the custom of the Malays, or with respect to
any matter of native law or customs in the State of Sabah or Sarawak; nor
shall Clause (6) validate any provision inconsistent with the provisions of
this Constitution relating to any such matter or relating to religion,
citizenship, or language.

(7) At the expiration of a period of six months beginning with the date on
which a Proclamation of Emergency ceases to be in force, any ordinance
promulgated in pursuance of the Proclamation and, to the extent that it
could not have been validly made but for this Article, any law made while
the Proclamation was in force, shall cease to have effect, except as to
things done or omitted to be done before the expiration of that period.

(8) Notwithstanding anything in this Constitution:
(a) the satisfaction of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong mentioned in Clause (1)
and Clause (2b) shall be final and conclusive and shall not be challenged or
called in question in any court on any ground; and (b) no court shall have
jurisdiction to entertain or determine any application, question or

Dr M: Umno has become completely paralysed

As Umno musters its forces against the emergence of bloggers, the party's
former president Dr Mahathir Mohamad is urging online dissidents to keep up
the pressure on the government.


At a special meeting with bloggers today, Mahathir described bloggers as the
"only hope" left to speak out on problems in the country. "Umno has become
completely paralysed. It cannot do anything (to correct itself). The only
hope left is with the bloggers ," said Mahathir during a two-and-a-half hour
speech to some 100 bloggers at the Perdana Leadership Foundation
headquarters in Putrajaya.


Mahathir was speaking on the perceived intolerance of Umno's leadership
towards criticism on allegations of corruption, cronyism and nepotism. He
has been over the past two years attacking number of party leaders, in
particular his handpicked successor, Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi
and his powerful son-in-law, Khairy Jamaluddin, who is Umno Youth deputy
chief.


Up until now, Mahathir had only been expressing tacit support for online
dissidents, although he had once dubbed malaysiakini as "traitors to the
country" when he was in power. 'Be brave' Of late, many Umno leaders have
been on an unprecedented warpath against bloggers who criticise the
government and its policies. Mahathir also referred to the eight-hour
marathon police interrogation of political website owner Raja Petra
Kamarudin as an example of how the authorities can intimidate bloggers.

"You have to gather force. You have to talk to people. Even if you are
arrested, you go and talk... If you have only one person doing that, it's
not good enough.

"If you want to do something that is positive, you have to get everybody, as
much as possible, and do it openly and say it loud and clear," said Mahathir
who was met with loud applause from the floor. Citing a recent lecture in a
local university, Mahathir expressed disappointment with students who blamed
the Universities and University Colleges Act (UUCA) as the reason for not
speaking out on issues. "There are ways to get around the rules and
regulations. If you want, if you love your country, you would take the
risk," he added.

Write prudently. However, Mahathir advised bloggers to be careful in their
writings and avoid courting negative publicity. "There are bloggers who use
words that are dirty, obscene, personal attacks, monkey, monyet... people
would react by saying 'so those are bloggers? Useless people! Read the
mainstream media.


The (New) Straits Times tells you the truth,'" said Mahathir with his usual
sarcasm. On the upcoming general election, Mahathir claimed that there would
be widespread vote buying due to the precedence set in the recent Selangor's
Ijok and Pahang's Batu Talam by-elections. "It is for certain that in the
coming general election, a lot of money would be spent in vote buying... if
the ruling parties do this, we would be governed by a government that is
outrightly involved in corruption," he said. "For RM200, people are willing
to sell their votes. They are not just selling their votes. Dia jual
maaruahnya (he is selling his dignity)."

The fact that this huge loss is not caused by earthquake, tsunami or any other natural catastrophe but by governmental agencies has compounded the people's misery and shock many times over.

MCCBCHST assures the Hindu community and the Malaysian Hindu Sangam that we hear your cries for justice and the answers from the local, state and national authorities. We express our solidarity with the Hindu community at this tragedy.

MCCBCHST regrets that after so many years of respectful meetings with successive MB's and PM's and countless number of memoranda respectfully written and submitted to them, the authorities have seemingly turned a deaf ear to us and our respective religious communities are still subjected to such insensitive and intolerant treatment.

We reiterate that the places of worship of any religious community – Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Taoist or others – are sacred places. A proper protocol must be strictly followed in any action being taken in relation to them. The manner in which the authorities have acted in this and other similar cases sends a signal to others to do likewise.

The reported physical assault by the enforcement officers on Chief Priest Siva Sri Ramalingga Gurukal if true is deplorable and unconscionable. From reports, it appears he was not armed and did not pose a danger nor a threat to the wellbeing of others. How can such an action be justified? Only days before, MCCBCHST issued a statement on Violence against Buddhist Monks in Myanmar. Have we come to this in Malaysia?

MCCBCHST calls on YAB Prime Minister and his officers to take careful stock of the incidents at Kampung Rimba Jaya. The nation awaits a comprehensive report on this incident. A 100-year old Temple has been demolished and 200 homes have been levelled just days before a major religious festival. To add salt to the wound, the Chief Priest has reportedly been physically assaulted. Is this the path the country should be taking?

My weekend? Quite an dull weekend for me this week, study week I should name it..Places i went are library and also badminton. Ask me? thats all...What on earth is happening?Keep on studying? TIll i cant find the mood to continue on on a Sunday night..Want to sleep also stil very very early...sleep by 8pm? That would be a joke..

Well, lotsa things came through my head these days...What is my future going to be?its really really very blur now..i cant get hold of anything to make me sure of what i am going to work as, or what am i gonna do...i jus cant live with the thinking of 'finish study then see' kinda thinking.. wondering, keep on wondering..I know i am living a emperor's life now, with i having everything i ever wanted..its really like want wind, got wind, want water got water..

Its not that i dono how to appreciate...but the question is, how long this kinda life is gonna last? this is the question i keep on asking myself...maybe is because i am really KIASI...fear to fail myself...this kind of attitude just cant make me the happy go lucky type of person...ppl say 'study hard and your future will be bright'.. how true is that? ever heard of degree holders have no jobs? and what kinda job i want to do? tats a very big question mark until now...

i jus dono why am i bothered with such things....sienz...should be studyin..i am..but whenever i am free, this kinda things comes through my head...I admit that sometimes i do waste time, i guess everyone does...doin things that are non-benificial to me at all...ish..process of life? i dono..are we supposed to go thru all these stages in life?

Al Gore had stumbled into the issue of global warming as a student at Harvard. If Gore joined the throng now running for President — unlikely — he would be the only candidate for whom the question, "Why are you running?" would already have been asked and answered.

When he ran for President in 1988, Gore promised me that if elected he would fly the nation's top reporters and pundits over the Greenland ice cap and Amazonian rain forest on Air Force One. That would awaken them at last, he thought — thereby awakening the public, and eventually maybe even politicians.
The next President won't have to fly reporters over the world's still-shrinking ice caps and still-burning forests. The public has finally grasped the most important issue of 1988, 2008 and 2028. Finals jus around the corner...

3 more weeks before the first day of final exams..Finals, the word mean so tense huh? Its time to reflect what I have done for the whole semester i guess...I dont feel that contented with what I have did for the whole semester..It just feels like the whole semester just flew pass me, without me actually doing or learning anything serious, as compared to last semester...Haiz...Its time wasted to put it in simple words...

How come? Every week for me, its jus FIS or HBC220 tutorial that keeps me occupied..thats the only thing i really work on for this semester. People are always asking me, how come u take this subject even u arent accounting student? dont ask me, i also dono why i took it. Frankly, i don regret taking it, cause its a must to at least know how basic accounting works to keep track of a company and also to analyze. I guess it will be useful in future..But, these things are giving me headache at the moment..I dont really understand what is being taught...though i did the exercises...so sad...will keep working on it...Hope a pass or credit can be obtained..with past failing rate of 78%, its really kinda hard to hope for anything beyond credit for a student like me...

As for the rest of the subject, i dono what to study also...jus revise and revise and get those concepts into my head...and microeconomics, with the scope given, i guess it should not be a problem.. Next week, a video named 'An unconvenient Truth' by Al-Gore, whom just won the Nobel Price lately will be screened to help us understand the topic Market failure better. Thanks to Callie, for screening of the video. I wonder is it the same video as i have watched before...

Should be studying at this time, but i just cant find the mood to start...and still i am here, wasting my time in front of the radiation emitting screen, looking and typing characters, trying to update my BLOG...hell...God help me...

O&M Ionic Group Lundu trip.

A trip to Union Retreat..lundu...with members of Ionic group of O&M group..though majority cant make it to this trip...as usual..drove up there...me, khee and bertram drove...everything was jus nice all along..the beach was so nice and skies are blue...kites are flown, though i have a hard time running to fly the kite up!..dry spell there cause us not to have even water to brush teeth by nightfall..! ewww...they all played mahjong all nite and i slept..hahaz..usual practice..sleeping..i enjoyed sleeping when out of home cause of no disturbance..how nice!..cant sleep peacefuly at home?

we then went to palm beach the nex day afternoon after check out jus to have a nice bath!! crazy huh?? well, get to know more friends better..esp bertram..! DON judge a book by its COVER! thats wad i learnt from this trip..nice to know you all..!though its adjourning stage already in our group developement, we still cant maintain it if we want to, but to a limit of small groups i guess..take care and God bless

Genting's Founder Passes Away...

Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong, founder and honorary life president of Genting Group, passed away at 11.20am Tuesday at the Subang Jaya Medical Centre.

The tycoon, who turned 90 in April this year, was renowned for his vision in transforming Genting Highlands from an unexplored hilltop to one of the world's most successful casino resorts.

The fifth child in a family of seven children, Lim migrated from China's Fujian province in 1937 at the age of 19 with only a small suitcase and US$175.

The idea of a hill resort was chanced upon by Lim amidst the crisp air of Cameron Highlands in 1964. Lim was then working on a hydro-electric power project at the popular hill resort, patronised mostly by British colonials seeking cool refuge from the tropical heat, when he foresaw a prosperous Malaysia of the future desiring a cool mountain holiday resort within the reach of all Malaysians.

To date, Genting Highlands Resort has five hotels and two apartment blocks at the hilltop and Awana Genting Highlands Golf and Country Resort.

The company, founded in 1965, has since expanded and diversified from its initial hotel and resort activities to plantations, properties, paper manufacturing, power generation, oil and gas, electronic commerce and information technology development under Genting Group.

According to Forbes Asia, the Genting Group founder was third richest in the country with a net worth of US$4.3bil (RM14.6bil).

Lim is survived by wife Puan Sri Lee Kim Hua, and their six children and 19 grandchildren.

Finally, I am back in Kuching from KL...went there on the 11th and came back on the evening of 14th of october....had a great time there. walked a lotz...talked a lotz...met lotz of peoples..thanks to janice and jiaan jhy for their time accompanying me for the whole afternoon...and of course mum and sis..for being there, though we had lots of lrt and monorail trips from bukit bintang to kelana jaya and also sentral...bought my new baby...!.. nikon 18-200mm AF-S VR lens..finally...cant wait to test it..and unleash its performance..well, thats all for the time being...no photos of kl this time cause my camera was lended to someone else...hope it comes back intact!..

Chased by police?

As usual, MidNight Star have our gathering every Friday at MBKS. We will usually gather, talk around before moving up to Bako, a place familiar for gathering of motor sports lovers, though i will jus label us as 'beginners', with Kancils and Kelisas...

Today was an unusual gathering as i have not went for any of it for the past one and a half month..but today, when i went, only i knew that we are joining up with another group called eternity..after wasted much of their time discussing on how to place the stickers on the car, something which i don agree at all and i dono wad was their decision, finally we decided to move up to bako...well, today is special also as our leader, Kent resigned and his place is taken over by alvin...i really wonder why this kinda thing can happen...

me and jia han went up first as they all said there is road block tonight..but we encounter none on the way up..and so we called the rest of the team members and told them about the clearance...we raced a few rounds...and jus when all of our team members arrived, i noticed that i was following a police van...it did nothing...but i jus tailed it...

just as soon as i overtook it, it switched on its strobe light, and hell...each car parked beside the road began to get its engine start and before i can realise, i was tailed by rows and rows of cars, with a clearly visible blue police strobe light at the end of the row of cars when i look at my rear mirror...police began chasing us...and hell!..everyone was racing away as if a hurdle of hippos are being attacked by tiger creating a stampede..including me myself...and so i broke contact with the rest of the team and since its around midnight, i drove straight home...

phew, after roaming at that area for almost half a year, finally i encounter police around...its quite adrenaline rushing....the feeling of being pursuit...but not being caught i guess...and this is the first time i brought my car the speed up to 155km/h...latest record..

AF Sec Calls China Sat Kill an "Egregious Act"

A top Pentagon official leveled sharp words at China Wednesday, reacting with some of the most candid and unambiguous language yet to that country's destruction in January of a satellite in space with a ground-launched ballistic missile.

Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne called the shoot-down an "egregious act" and said the Chinese sent a clear message to the U.S. military that its aging satellite force is under threat.

"We were not surprised, we were shocked," Wynne said at a Sept. 19 meeting hosted by the Washington, D.C.-based Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments, a defense policy think tank. "What was shocking about it was the denial."

"Was it part of a plan; was it not part of a plan?" Wynne wondered. "That's what was shocking about it."

Wynne said the shoot-down of a 1990's-era Chinese weather satellite in polar orbit has forced astronauts aboard the international space station to avoid the debris field scattered in the intercept, and he concluded that China now claims space as a legitimate battlefield.

Future enemies "want to make sure that you will not want to get involved" in a conflict, Wynne reasoned.

"They can pin-prick you, they can threaten you - as China has with shoot-down of the satellite - just to tell us 'you don't think you're safe up there,' " he said. "Space is not a sanctuary anymore."

The Chinese government was silent on the shoot-down - and the international condemnation that resulted - for weeks after the Jan. 11 hit, and has been murky on the issue ever since. In June, U.S. Joint Chiefs chairman Gen. Peter Pace said he had not raised the issue with his Chinese counterparts during a meeting in May.

A Pentagon report released this summer assessing the Chinese military said the test was an example of China's pursuit of asymmetric countermeasures to American military prowess.

"The test put at risk the assets of all space faring nations and posed dangers to human space flight due to the creation of an unprecedented amount of debris," the report stated. "The direct ascent ASAT system is one component of a multi-dimensional program to generate the capability to deny others access to outer space."

Wynne's comments are some of the strongest yet from a senior Pentagon official and indicate how seriously the military considers Chinese anti-satellite weapons development. America's increasing reliance on space-borne assets to guide weapons, conduct long-range communications and keep an all-seeing eye on potential enemies could become the Pentagon's Achilles Heel in a future conflict, many analysts fear.

The move prompted Air Force planners to redouble their efforts to come up with ways to defend U.S. space assets from destruction. But officials are reluctant to replace a $1.5 billion satellite, only to have it destroyed by a $100 million ASAT missile.

"If space comes under attack, maybe we don't want to put up big, expensive retainer forces, maybe all we want to put up is just enough to kick the crap out of whoever shot at our satellite - kind of send a message to them," Wynne said. "And then we'll put up another expensive satellite."

Other experts wonder whether the Pentagon could reduce its dependence on satellite systems - particularly those used for GPS navigation - and position more assets in the atmosphere, leaving fewer targets for enemy ASAT weapons to hit.

Whatever defensive solution is adopted, the Air Force faces an aging fleet of satellites that are running out of fuel to keep them in orbit, Wynne said. Now, the service is faced with a potential investment of $20 billion per year to replace its space-borne fleet in the face of an aggressive threat from ASAT weapons.

"Right now, the satellites have gone up all in a peaceful mode," Wynne said. "I do think we should have some defensive mechanisms, but it is very hard to defend a satellite you're actually trying to talk to."

What, then, is the elusive thing called "Love" that everyone so desperately needs? Sometimes, we sort of like this girl because she is beautiful? Or the girl likes him because he is handsome? But this kind of "Cinderella Syndrome" when the girl is waiting on her Prince Charming, is not real love. It is better known as "Infatuation", and there is a vast difference between it and real love. Enumerated here below are the differences.

Infatuation is a feeling; real love involves a commitment also. Infatuation is just love of emotion. Real love though, is love of devotion. Only the emotions are affected in infatuation, but in real love both the Emotions and the Will are involved. Next, a person "fall into" infatuation, but "grows into" real love. Gentlemen, have you ever seen a girl who was so beautiful that you thought you'd faint? This is infatuation. It is based totally on physical attraction; Often you don't know much in-depth about the person you so-called love. Thus infatuation is mostly biological.
