Finally, I can say that I am in Perth now...Arrived here by midnight of 8th July 2008..Can still recall the ground temperature was only 12degrees. Thanks to Delia for fetching me up from the airport though its already 12am when I came out from the Customs checking. Unpacked everything that night.
Delia's mum and aunty was also here when I came. But they went back the midnight of the next day I came. Thanks for the treat by her mum at a Chinese restaurant in Northbridge..Manage to meet up with Sing Joo also that night before she flew back to Kuching. Met up with Audrey too last night at city since there is late night shopping in city...Havent seen her since she came to Perth after we finished form 5..! Lucky still can recognize her...
The next few days was just driving around, with Delia becoming my navigator, forcing me to memorize traffic rules and routes so I can drive mum around when she is back to Kuching on Sunday night. Mum and sister will be coming on 14th night. Really grateful for her to be so generous though I am bad at memorizing routes...I need maps and understanding, not memorizing...hahaz..Thanks Delia for bringing me around though! Thanks for your time and effort...
Life here....label it generally with one word...'BORED!!' its real bored here...nothing much to do..maybe its because I have no friends around yet..hope to expand my network soon though..so I wont be that bored...So used to busy life, with people and friends around and suddenly now I am alone here...with no friends, except delia, sing joo and audrey..omg..wonder how am I gonna spend time here for the next few days when delia is back to Kuching...talk to the wall again..same case as when I was in Penang...its really killing me..blogging, reading and walking around is the only thing I can do around here..Weekend is even worst...shops closes early and there is practically nothing to do...just stay at home and hibernate...
The coldness here is really the worst thing for me...I can hardly sweat here...which is out of my normal lifestyle...Everyday its cold like hell here...and I hate coldness more than the heat of the Sun...adui...
Rather than just complaining, there is also something good about Perth..Life here is so peaceful, quiet and organized..I would say its a nice place for retirement, enjoying life...Rules are strictly to be followed here...driving here is really hard for me to adapt as there is speed limits all around and speed cameras as well...Back in Kuching, speed as u can, as long as u dont bump into anything...Roads here are so smooth and straight that I think if this were to be built in Kuching, people will drive up to 160-180km/h!... Well, its a nice place for mummy to relax here I would say...away from the hectic life of work..spend a week or 2 here..But I doubt she can enjoy without worrying what is happening back there...

Mt Santubong.Climb 2008
This is a really late posting. Only posted when I am here in Perth, after leaving Kuching for almost a week., dono how many days after the climb of Mt. Santubong.
Those who took part in the climb are:
Me, Arden, Shean Tyng, Ida, Chun Han, Jia Yiing, Tommy and Wee Khee(MIA)
The overnight climb to Mt Santubong was part of the 'training module' in preparation for Mt Kinabalu climb. The climb was just so wonderful as we only took 25 minutes from the last station to the summit, just in time before total darkness..
Carrying a camp and a bag, loading around 15-20kgs on the climb was really taxing...I carried my camera up using the new Kata bag I have ordered for the climb to KK, my tripod and also a camp. I only have a free hand for me to grab the stairs during the last part climb. Imagine if I need to use that last free hand to carry a torch when it falls dark...
Wonderful night we spend on the summit.. We cooked maggie using bunsen burner..it was so fast for the water to boil..then after eating, we spend time sitting together on the lousy table which will overturn if imbalanced.. we then spend time hunting for shooting stars in the skies, which all of us manage to see at least one...some luckies like chun han manage to spot 4 of them..!
The night view of Kuching from the summit is just so nice too..lights are shimmering like stars...they comes on and off, i dono why though.. Then we slept quite early that night around 11.30p.m. and it was just nice to sleep in the tent with sleeping bags...not freezing cold as compared to the previous overnite climb!
The descend was fast though...taking us only 2 hours to descend from the summit.. Memorable trip!...thank you buddies for the climb and experience we shared.!

Leaving Kuching for Perth
Finally, the day comes. 8th July 2008, 1050hrs I take off from Kuching, headed to Singapore, in transit for the flight to Perth on 1850 hours.
Sitting in the airport for 5 hours plus is really kinda relaxing for me. Seldom I have a chance to sit down and do nothing like this. Enjoying the crowd, typing with an Airbus A380 parked outside the glass right outside where I am sitting, while I am choosing pictures from Kinabalu trip to be posted is really a slow but relaxing process.
Everything happened in lightning speed. After finals, we started our training anticipating Kinabalu climb. Continued with Santubong Climb, and then at last, Kinabalu trip. Havent had I got a chance to take a breath for the next event, here I am, sitting in Changi airport, waiting to catch another flight to Perth, to embark on another journey of my life, continuing my studies there.
Many things had happened before the climb and after the climb, in which all of us cant help with it, I do believe our bond of friendship will always be that strong. Stay strong all of yea! ...Mention more on my next posting then.
Family and Friends whom I spend time with all these while are those I will miss the most when I am boarding the flight, heading towards a new destination. Looking forward towards a whole new challenge, new lifestyle and environment.
Till then, stay updated with the post on Kinabalu and Santubong climb.
